Hi! I thought I'd try out this blog thing! Anyone who knows me understands that I am terrible at answering the phone and returning phone calls. It's nothing personal -- I am just an awful phone person! So, in order to keep people in the loop of our life, we are starting a blog! :)
Matt and I have been married for 2 years and nine months! Seriously, where did the time go? Just for the fun of it... here are some wedding pictures from June 14, 2008!
What a beautiful day that was! I remember it just as if it was yesterday! That weekend was full of blessing from our Heavenly Father! There was so much love and laughter. I remember it was cloudy during the day, but the sun would peek out when it had the chance. It rained during the wedding (GOOD LUCK) and then during pictures, a beautiful sky was laid out before us. For the reception, the weather held up but as soon as Matt and I sat down for dinner -- BAM! Down came the rain! It rained until we stopped eating -- bizarre I know! We all hit up the dance floor and danced the night away until we left for our honeymoon around 9:30! What a glorious day! Thank you Lord for the sweet memories and blessings for our marriage!
So, that was over two years ago -- let's fast forward to the present! Matt works as an Aerospace Engineer. He loves his job and is constantly busy working on new projects. I am currently teaching first grade and LOVING it! Teaching kids how to read is quite the challenge -- but a very rewarding one. My class is full of personality and God reminds me everyday how blessed I am! Both Matt and I are in graduate school. I am working on my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction with an Emphasis on Literary Instruction. Matt is working on his Masters in Systems Engineering. I will be graduating by the end of 2011 and Matt will finish in a few years.
So, besides keeping busy with grad school and puppies, Matt and I also volunteer with the high school youth group. We love sharing God's love with the teens and have found our relationship grow even closer thanks to God blessing us and keeping Him at the center of it! Matt even became Catholic around Thanksgiving of 2010! *A joke in our Youth Group is that I "made my own Catholic!* Haha! Just kidding! :)
Well, we've been proud owners of our first house for almost two years! Matt works hard fixing up the backyard with different projects that he's started (and many that he's accomplished)! Lauren came over the summer to help us revamp one of the bedrooms. We de-popcorn the ceiling, painted the walls and trim, pulled up the carpet, and put down hardwood floors. It was quite the project! It was such a fun visit and in between all of that work, Lauren and I were able to sneak out for a few runs! :) All in all, we kept her busy in Texas! :)
I think that's about it for now! I'll update this as exciting things happen in our lives! We hope that all who read this are doing well!
Be blessed!
Verses of the Day:
Being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.
~Philippians 1:6
I will personally go with you, and I will give you rest – everything will be fine for you.
~Exodus 33:14
