A Sweet Little Blessing!

 God is so good! I am just amazed at His plan that He reveals on His time.  I've always wanted to be a mommy and now God is letting that blessing come to life.  We found out on Saturday, April 30 that we are expecting!!! There's a fun story behind this... I had been wondering for a little while and Matt wouldn't let me test until the 30th.  And so, the night before, I had a hard time falling asleep.  The next thing I know, it's 3:30 am on what day -- oh yes -- SATURDAY morning! As all good wives do, I debated... to test now or not to test.  Well, that question didn't linger long... I got up and tested.  Of course, I told Matt that I was and sleepily, he said, "Okay." I waited... man the minutes seemed to drag... and then managed the courage to go back into the bathroom.  I was in awe... TWO LINES! I made Matt come look with me to make sure I saw it correctly... (I mean, it was 3:30 in the morning)! He looked, took a deep breath, and hugged me tight! It was such a sweet moment.  We went back to bed, prayed to our Lord, thanking Him for the gift of life, and then had a hard time falling back to sleep!

The next weekend was Mother's Day (May 8th), so we decided to tell our parents (and siblings) by putting a picture of the test taped to a picture of us in their Mother's Day cards. Matt's mom called Saturday while we were eating lunch... she was beyond excited! My mom called Sunday -- she is very good at not opening cards until the day of the event! She was screaming and crying... she was on "cloud 9"!  Our siblings got their cards the next few days -- Lauren was ecstatic and Shawn was really happy too!  Megan was able to find out through the card that was sent to Matt's parent's house and she is very excited to be an aunt!

Our first appointment was on May 26.  Both Matt and I wanted to keep it as quiet as possible until we knew that everything was okay.  Well, with such a good secret... that's hard to do! I started having food aversions, feeling VERY sick -- the whole nine yards ALL DAY -- so close friends started guessing and when they guess something that big and so positive, it's hard to deny! 

The day of the doctor's appointment FINALLY came! A few friends and I had a bet going that it was twins -- my tummy poked out of no where!

Well, our wonderful Doctor said there is "one, happy, healthy, squirmy little baby in there!"  My reply was, "Of course, look at his mother!"  Haha, don't know where that came from but that was an automatic reply! :)
