Where Has the Time Gone?

Oh my goodness! I have been a terrible terrible blogger!  I cannot believe that the last time I updated this was in late June!  So much has happened... let's see if I can fill you in on the "highlights".

 

Well, obviously summer is over.  Matt and I had were able to escape to Auburn for 10 days at the beginning of July.  We had a wonderful time seeing family and being by my parent's pool... ohhhh the good ol' days!

At the end of July, Matt and I drove to Dallas for my cousin's wedding.  I was honored to be a part of it! I'm so excited for Renee and Steve... congratulations you two!  It was so good to have the whole family (minus my brother and a few cousins... we missed you guys) back together again.

After the wedding, my parents and my grandma spent a few days at our house.  We did a lot and kept busy ... it was a great visit! I'm so blessed with a wonderful family!

Matt's mom and my mom flew on Thursday, August 8 for our baby revealing party on Friday, August 9.  Don, Dolores, and Michelle threw us the BEST baby revealing party EVER! (No lies!)  So many of our wonderful church friends, Texas friends, and my school friends were able to attend.  We even skyped in Matt's sister, Lauren, and my dear friend, Alison, for the event! 

It was so amazing! They had everything decorated and the food was beyond delicious!  Besides visiting with friends, catching up, and laughing, we had a "voting" poster in which everyone took a onsie and wrote a name and placed it under the boy/girl category.  There was also an old wives tale game which required Matt and I to answer questions about the pregnancy so far (at this point we were 19 weeks and 6 days)!  The majority of the questions pointed to a boy... 

Then it was time to bite into the cupcakes which would tell the surprise! Mine was a white cupcake with vanilla frosting and Matt had red velvet with the cream cheese frosting.  We counted to three and then bit... (I beat him on my bite) and discovered that it was a BOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We were beyond ecstatic and felt so blessed! God is so good! :)

A few weeks later, Matt and I decided on a name.  We are calling him Luke Joseph.  I cannot wait to meet this sweet baby that God has blessed us with!

School is back into the swing of things and is keeping me pretty busy! I have a sweet bunch of first graders this year and I am blessed to have such a wonderful job!  Matt has been busy with softball and grad school.  My last class starts Sept. 26 and I finish at the end of October... I will graduate in December... I'm soooooo excited!

Volunteering with the amazing youth group has kept us busy as well.  We are so blessed to have such a great church family!

Well, that seems to be a pretty good summary for now. I promise to try to keep up with this more and more!
